The security audit was conducted in four cities - Kyiv, Lviv, Simferopol and Kharkiv.

In Kyiv, the audit was conducted in Darnytskyi district, in particular, the safety conditions in the area of ​​the clinic №3, located on the street. Boryspilska and interviewed residents of Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, who live on Petro Hryhorenko Avenue, Knyazhiy Zaton Street, Sribnokilska Street and are registered at the Family Medicine Center, located at 14-b Sribnokilsika Street; in Lviv, a survey of residents (women) of the Sykhiv massif was conducted; in Simferopol conducted an audit of the security of the territory, which is the main route for students of the Faculty of Slavic Philology and Journalism of the Tavriya National University. VI Vernadsky living in a dormitory; in Kharkiv, a travel route for female students living or attending classes on the campus of NTU "KhPI" "Giant".

The analysis of territorial audits was carried out in accordance with the guidelines "Safe for women - safe for all" Territorial Security Audit, developed by the Women's Information and Counseling Center.

Lighting

In daylight, almost everything is fine, but when it is evening, night, and in winter it gets dark at 17 o'clock, it is not very good because of poor lighting of lanterns. In some places there are just poles on which lanterns have never hung. The entrances to the houses are almost unlit.

There is a very nice park and stadium along the route, this road shortens the road to the whole stop, so it is convenient to go to the post office, savings bank, school, pharmacy and some shops, but when it gets dark there is no lantern, the park path is 300 meters long , residential buildings are far away, in front of the old factory house of culture, which is in disrepair, on the side of the stadium and the fence of the plant.

Among the changes that would help women feel safer, they most often highlight "improving the lighting of the area."
All respondents note that there are dark places nearby where someone can hide (forest, bushes, playground).
According to the respondents, the lighting of sidewalks and pedestrian areas needs to be improved. Road signs and signs are often poorly lit, and lighting can be shaded by trees and shrubs. The houses are not located on the main street, and one after another is not lit at all. However, most respondents do not know who or where to call if their lanterns or light bulbs are not lit, broken or missing.

In adverse weather conditions and in the dark, overcoming the route causes unpleasant feelings, because in addition to the lack of lighting on the road quite a steep slope, where there are no steps. This place becomes dangerous especially during rain, snow or ice.

The patrol can be seen to a greater extent during the day near the natural market, restricting the right to sell surplus products to rural residents, or on holidays on the street. Some women point out that there is only one place nearby where they can count on help that is sensitive to problems (a church is located 500 meters away).

There are no surveillance cameras on the route. A police station is located in one of the dormitories, but students do not often see its staff patrolling the area.

Kharkiv
There is no information with the image of emergency phones. There are no buttons that can be used to call emergency services not only in this place. We have not met such buttons anywhere in Kharkiv.

The road to the bus stop is very bad with potholes that have not been repaired for almost 20 years.
During the rain, a large lake overflows because there are no drainage systems.
On the way from the street. Boryspilska to the savings bank st. Regarding the most frequently mentioned improvements that the respondents would like to see, the first place is occupied by improved lighting. Other options for answering this question include improving landscaping (repairing houses, roads, sidewalks; benches, better cleaning; landscaping; playgrounds); control over animals (leashes, cleaning); safety of movement and transport; satisfaction of people with special needs, including visual, hearing or mobility impairments. Among the specific recommendations, women suggest strengthening the security and safety of the area (police patrols, surveillance cameras, improved lighting). The problem with animals is proposed to be solved by creating special places for dogs to walk, as well as fines for their walking without muzzles and in playgrounds. It is proposed to solve the problem of landscaping through park plantings and increasing the number of flower beds.
