WICC appealed to the Office of the President regarding the involvement of women in the negotiation process

13.02.2025

The Women's Information Consultative Center (WICC) has sent an official appeal to the Office of the President of Ukraine requesting proper representation of women in the negotiation process, the preparation for which has been announced.

In our appeal, we emphasize the importance of fulfilling Ukraine's international obligations, including UN Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women, Peace, Security" (WPS), as well as the principles of equality, inclusivity, and effective decision-making.

We call on the authorities:
✅ To include women in negotiation delegations at all levels.
✅ To involve women's organizations and experts in peacebuilding and security consultations.
✅ To use gender analysis in decision-making that takes into account the needs of all citizens, especially women who are among the most vulnerable groups in the context of war.

The text of the appeal is available at this link.

We urge everyone interested to join this initiative!
